Have you moved to Web 2.0?
Ryan and I just finished plans to revamp our professional wrestling website to Web 2.0. We’re setting up the site much like this website where it will have more of a “blog feel” to it where readers can comment on stories, chat rooms can be posted in articles, polls can be created per story, etc. No more will we have to FTP in to update certain portions of the website and everything can be controlled by a unique URL on the Internet. This is a change that is much needed and long overdue. So it got me thinking how important it is to utilize Web 2.0 in every aspect of our online business.
When setting up a landing page I always like to add a video or two to my pages, helping explain what we are promoting. I’m sure you’ve heard the adage a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, a video is worth two thousand. Most demographics do not enjoy reading. They like pictures and videos because they require less work and are more interesting to view. Viewers also like web pages that are interactive because they are more fun.
Do your landing pages reflect Web 2.0? It’s amazing how easy little things that can make a big difference can be overlooked. Never setup a campaign without evaluating whether or not your landing page reflects Web 2.0. Not only does your page need to be professionally designed and easy to navigate but it needs to be interactive.
If you’re struggling to garner conversions, examine your landing pages and look for areas where you can incorporate Web 2.0. It might just make the difference between making and losing money.
